Christian Ebeke

Christian Ebeke, A national of Cameroon, Christian Ebeke is Deputy Division Chief of the Macro-policy Division at the IMF, where he has led work on geoeconomic fragmentation, macrostructural reforms, and industrial policy, among other assignments. Before this, he served as the lead desk economist in the Central African Republic team between 2021 and 2022. Between 2017 and 2021, Mr. Ebeke was the IMF’s Deputy Resident Representative to the European Union in Brussels. He has undertaken numerous other assignments, including in the euro area and Poland, and reviewing low-income countries’ programs at the IMF. Mr. Ebeke has published many articles in top academic journals on a wide range of topics in development economics, holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Auvergne in France, and joined the IMF in 2011.
