Jaime Guajardo is the deputy division chief of the regional studies division and the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department. Prior to that, he worked in the IMF’s Asia Pacific Department as a senior economist for Indonesia and the Philippines and mission chief for Palau. He also worked at the IMF’s Research Department in the production of several analytical chapters for the World Economic Outlook. He’s research interests center around the areas of monetary and fiscal policies, cross-country spillovers, and real business cycles. He holds a PHD from the University of California Los Angeles.
