The Content division delivers IT solutions focused on content and knowledge management, communications and outreach, member and partner engagement, as well as support the many capital projects under this division. This divisions content solutions underpin much of the knowledge creation and surveillance work of the Fund, modernizing these systems is key to support staff productivity and service to members.
The Data and Economic Division’s mission is to empower Fund users with cutting-edge AI, ML, data, and economic modeling tools by leveraging best practices in the data lifecycle engineering. Through continuous innovation and collaboration, we strive to deliver high-quality, reliable and actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.
Digital Experts working in the Digital Advisory Unit bring a diverse set of competencies to support the digitalization of member countries. They have experience with digital money, technologies relevant to the digitalization of the fiscal and financial sector, including AI, blockchain and data analytics. The function also involves a deep understanding of digital risks, such as cyber-security and building resilient systems.
The Digital Finance and Human Resources Unit is responsible for providing IT solutions and application support for the Fund’s Core Finance, Travel, Human Resource, Payroll, Pension, Budget Planning and Capacity Development functional areas. The Unit is continuously engaged with respective business departments in delivering value with advisory, implementation, integration, and business process transformation services to drive operational efficiency and productivity.
The Digital Lending and Corporate Unit is the IT partner responsible for the core corporate business capabilities solutions including Lending, Member Financial Services, Language Services, Facilities, Physical Security, Transportation, and the Corporate Datawarehouse. The unit provides end-to-end accountability for solutions our our primary business areas, lending and corporate services, partnering to understand their business strategy, priorities, processes and capability needs, and developing roadmaps and workplans, all in an effort to deliver secure and optimized solutions
The IMF’s Enterprise Architecture & Automation Division optimizes our organization's technology systems through enterprise architecture, automation, integrations, and experience design. We create a comprehensive view of the IT infrastructure, streamline manual processes, connect different systems, and design user-friendly interfaces. This team collaborates with other departments to ensure technology solutions align with the organization's goals and objectives. We leverage their expertise to help us stay up to date in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The Project Management Office oversees and facilitate IT capital Portfolio, program and project delivery to support the IMF’s strategic goals and objectives. The PMO supports the portfolio governance and management function by operationalizing governance processes, facilitating executive decision making and providing accurate, current, and relevant project and portfolio data.
The Infrastructure & Operations (IO) Division resides in this department and is responsible for managing the on-premises and cloud infrastructure that support the IT systems of the Fund. It also supports the end users from providing devices such as laptops, iPhones, and iPads provided to all staff, contractors, and consultants to giving them support through help desk services. The team also manages the common application and collaboration portfolio (Office365, Webex, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint). Lastly, it is responsible for the engineering and operations of the hybrid security platform technology stack which includes identity and access management solutions, network and endpoint security platforms at the Fund.
The Information Security Group in the ITDSG division is responsible for the management of all aspects of the IMF's information security strategy and program in support and enablement of IMF’s Global Policy Agenda. The division provides assurance in the role of the second line of defense by ensuring that appropriate policies and standards are in place and effective standards and controls are established to continually assess and effectively manage information security risks to the institution withing risk tolerances. Additionally, the division delivers timely cyber security training and awareness, application security testing, enhancing cyber resilience, continuous monitoring of cyber threats based on actionable intelligence, and responding to cyber incidents.
The Strategic Resource Management Division is responsible for the integrated financial management of all IT resources, including capital, admin., cloud capital equivalent, assets and capacity, as well as benefits from capital and operational investments to increase value realization and promote accountability, in support of the Fund’s core services and capabilities. Additionally, SRM aims to increase value for money through strategically aligned and rigorous software asset management (SAM) compliance to reduce legal, financial, and reputational risk exposure to the IMF.
