David Amaglobeli is a Deputy Unit Chief in the European Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he serves as Mission Chief for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. Previously, he worked in the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department and Middle East and Central Asia Department. He has published on fiscal and tax policy, energy and food price shocks, digitalization, inequality, pensions, financial crises, and fiscal institutions. Before joining the IMF in 2009, Mr. Amaglobeli held senior positions in Georgia, including Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia and Deputy Minister of Finance. In these roles, he introduced an inflation-targeting monetary policy framework and contributed to major economic and financial sector reforms.
