Qualifications and Target Participants

- Teaches foundational principles, methodologies, and tools necessary to implement an effective risk-based supervisory framework.
- Covers international standards for risk-based supervision and the necessary legal and regulatory framework critical for AML/CFT risk-based supervision of financial institutions.
- Focuses on practical application of essential elements of a risk-based approach to AML/CFT supervision.
- Equips participants to develop appropriate supervisory strategies and use a sound and effective risk-based approach for both offsite and onsite AML/CFT supervision of financial institutions.
Course Objectives (Upon completion participants will be able to)
- Understand the legal and regulatory framework necessary for AML/CFT risk-based supervision.
- Apply effective methodologies of risk-based AML/CFT supervision of financial institutions in both offsite and onsite settings.
- Develop and implement supervisory strategies aligned with international standards to assess the effectiveness of financial institutions' AML/CFT controls so that ML/TF/PF risks are adequately controlled and mitigated.
- Use sound and effective risk-based supervisory tools.
