News Brief: IMF Managing Director Horst Köhler to Visit Argentina, Brazil, Honduras and Mexico

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Horst Köhler,
is travelling to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (May 15); Buenos Aires, Argentina
(May 16); Tegucigalpa, Honduras (May 18); and Mexico City, Mexico (May 19).

The purpose of Mr. Köhler's trip is to hear perspectives on critical issues facing the global economy. He is particularly interested in the views of emerging market countries on the role of the IMF, which will be an important input in the consideration of reform of the institution. Mr. Köhler plans similar trips to Africa and Asia. Dates for this travel have yet to be set.

Mr. Köhler returns to Washington, D.C., on May 20.
