IMF Managing Director Rodrigo de Rato Congratulates Luis Alberto Moreno on his Election as President of the Inter-American Development Bank

Mr. Rodrigo de Rato, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), today congratulated Ambassador Luis Alberto Moreno for his election as President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). The Managing Director issued the following statement after the election was announced by the IADB:

"I congratulate Ambassador Luis Alberto Moreno for his election as President of the Inter-American Development Bank. Ambassador Moreno's diplomatic experience and leadership will ensure that this institution continues to play an important role in the economic development of Latin America. I also express my desire to maintain the close degree of cooperation between the IMF and the IADB, which is key to meeting the challenges that confront the countries in the region."
