Annual Giving Campaign

Last Updated: August 05, 2013

From 1975 to 2002, the IMF participated in the United Way Campaign of the National Capital Area, receiving the Platinum Award during the last three years.

For its fundraising efforts in 2004, the IMF received the Champion of Health Award from the Community Health Charities Federation of the National Capital Area.

From 2003, the IMF introduced an in-house Annual Giving Campaign, renamed the "Helping Hands Campaign".

In 2006, contributions from IMF employees and retirees, with the 50% matching Civic grant for 2006 totaled over $900,000.

How does it work?

Fund employees and retirees donate to the charities of their choice through payroll deduction or a one time payment. The IMF's Civic Program matches donations at 50 cents for every dollar, up to a maximum of $5,000 per contributor.

The Campaign begins mid-October and finishes at the end of December. A raffle with prizes from airline tickets to gift certificates is part of the campaign. The drawing is held in mid-November. The number of tickets is determined by the amount donated to charities.

The IMF is grateful to many local and international companies that support the Campaign by donating raffle prizes.
