IMF Launches Country Pages on Website

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is launching Country Pages on its website (http://www.imf.org) to provide easier access to economic and financial information on its 182 member countries and other economies, External Relations Director Thomas C. Dawson announced.

Country-specific information, including Press Releases, Letters of Intent and IMF disbursements and country repayments, will be readily accessible through the new website service. "This feature is a significant enhancement of our website, and reflects our continuing effort to assure the IMF website is user-friendly," Mr. Dawson said.

"The Country Pages are a work in progress, and we will make refinements and improvements over time," Mr. Dawson stressed. "For instance, we are proposing to add links to official websites of central banks and finance ministries to aid public access to country economic and financial information."

The pages draw on information already posted on the IMF website. The IMF welcomes comments about its website. Please send these to: IMF Webmaster.
