Lagarde Urges World Cooperation and Quick Action to Spur Confidence

By acting together, and quickly, the world can address the current crisis of confidence in the global economy and get back on the path to recovery, says IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.
Speaking at the opening session of the 2011 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C., which comprise events attended by around 10,000 policymakers, private sector and civil society representatives, journalists, and academics, Lagarde said that risks have increased sharply amid a weak and uneven recovery.
