The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed today the second review of Niger’s economic performance under the three-year Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) arrangement. The approval enables Niger to draw immediately an amount of SDR 3.29 million from the IMF (about US$5.0 million), bringing total disbursements to SDR 9.87 (about US$15.0) .
The PRGF arrangement became effective June 2, 2008, for a total amount of SDR 23.03 million (about US$34.9 million) (see Press Release No. 08/127). The first review was completed on December 22, 2008.
