The International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES), and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PCUP), in coordination with the government of Peru, will co-host an IMF Youth Dialogue Event: How to Build a Better Future for Latin America on Thursday July 24, at 4:00 p.m. at the PCUP Cultural Center in Lima (Camino Real 1075, San Isidro).

The event, where IMF Deputy Managing Director Min Zhu will meet with students from various universities of Peru, will provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing Latin America, as well as other topical issues of global interest. The event will be streamed live on the university’s website. Mr. Zhu will also answer students’ questions channeled through the social media competition “Ask the IMF” (#preguntaalfmi).

During the event, the finalists of the IMF essay contest “How to build a better future for Latin America,” in which students from the region shared their ideas, thoughts, and proposals, will be announced. This contest is part of a series of events the IMF is holding in the run-up to the 2015 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Peru that include numerous activities involving young people, academics, and representatives of the public and private sectors.
