Christine Lagarde is the eleventh Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.
Mario Draghi has served as President of the European Central Bank (ECB) since 2011. Prior to his appointment to the ECB, he served as Governor of the Bank of Italy from 2006 until 2011. As Governor of Italy’s central bank, Mr. Draghi was a member of the ECB’s governing council, which sets interest rates in the euro zone. He also became Chairman of the Financial Stability Forum, an advisory body for the Group of 20 economically advanced countries. Following the worldwide financial crisis of 2008, that forum became the Financial Stability Board, and it acquired a mandate to devise regulatory standards that would prevent another near collapse of the banking system.
