About Elvira Nabiullina

Elvira Nabiullina has been Governor of the Bank of Russia since June 2013. Before that, she had served for one year as Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on Economic Affairs. Ms. Nabiullina served in various capacities in the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation, starting as Deputy Head and rising to become Deputy Minister of Economy in 1997. In 2003, she was appointed President of the Center for Strategic Research Foundation, where she was Vice President from 1999 to 2000. She also headed the Expert Council of the Organizing Committee for Russia’s G8 Presidency in 2006. From 2007 to 2012, she held two consecutive ministerial posts: first as Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation (2007-2008), where she had previously served as First Deputy Minister (2000-2003), and then as Minister of Economic Development (2008-2012). Ms. Nabiullina started her career in 1991 at the Directorate on Economic Reform of the Standing Committee of the USSR Scientific and Industrial Union Board.


About Michel Camdessus

Michel Camdessus assumed office as the seventh Managing Director and Chairman of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in January 1987, and served until February 2000. Mr. Camdessus is the longest-serving Managing Director of the IMF to date. Previously, he held several senior positions in the French government, becoming Director of the Treasury in 1982. From 1978 to 1984, he also served as Chairman of the Paris Club, and was Chairman of the Monetary Committee of the European Economic Community from 1982 to 1984. Mr. Camdessus served as Deputy Governor of the Banque de France, and Governor of the Banque de France from November 1984 until his appointment as Managing Director of the IMF. He is currently an Honorary Governor of the Banque de France and a member of the Africa Progress Panel, a group of 10 distinguished individuals who advocate at the highest levels for equitable and sustainable development in Africa.
