Luis M. Cubeddu

Luis Cubeddu is Assistant Director in the IMF’s Western Hemisphere Department and Mission Chief for Argentina. Previously, he led the Research Department's Multilateral Surveillance Division and Open Economy Macroeconomics Division, where he was in charge of overseeing the production of the annual External Sector Report. During much of his Fund career he has focused on the surveillance and analysis of emerging market economies, including in the context of IMF programs. Prior to joining the Fund, Mr. Cubeddu was assistant professor at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona Spain. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and is a native of Venezuela.
