SSA Regional Economic Outlook launch in Lusaka
The IMF Resident Representative for Zambia Eric Lautier presented the October 2025 Regional Economic Outlook for Sub-Saharan Africa, which examines recent economic developments and prospects across the region. Representatives from the Bank of Zambia, academia, development partners, civil society organizations, and the research community participated in discussions about growth drivers, commodity price volatility, resource mobilization, and the sovereign-bank nexus (connections between government finances and banking systems).

The IMF Zambia team, led by the Mission Chief, Ms. Mercedes Vera Martin, had a productive exchange today with Zambian civil society organizations and think tanks following the conclusion of the recent visit to Lusaka. Insightful discussions focused on how reforms can foster inclusive growth, resilience, and stronger social outcomes for all.
