Press Release: Statement on IMF Article IV Mission to Honduras

Press Release No. 06/245The following statement was issued today in Tegucigalpa by Mr. Mario Garza, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) resident representative in Tegucigalpa:
"An IMF mission will visit Tegucigalpa during November 13-21, 2006 to conduct the Article IV consultation discussions with Honduras. As is customary in these discussions, the mission in coordination with the authorities will assess the economic situation of Honduras and discuss the government's macroeconomic strategy for 2007 and the medium term to sustain high growth and alleviate poverty. The mission will also meet with key sectors of society. The Executive Board of the IMF will conclude the Article IV consultation in the early months of 2007."
