Budget Formulation and Good Budgeting Practices (BFBP)

This course, presented by the IMF Fiscal Affairs Department, will help Nepal authorities have a deeper understanding of the international and regional good practices in Budget formulation, medium term and performance budgeting, cash management; and cross-cutting issues. Most sessions will follow discussion on issues and practices in Nepal and possible strengthening of their systems.

Mid level officers of Government of Nepal dealing with budgeting

Qualifications

At least five years of experience in budgeting, budget execution

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
  • Conduct training in collaboration with Budget office of Nepal
  • Discuss the problem areas in the subject and cross-cutting areas
  • Discuss international and regional good practices
  • Discuss the country practices and gap areas to strengthen budget institutions and controls; with a vision on fiscal federalism
