Course Description
By providing participants with three cutting-edge tools in-use or developed at the IMF,this course aims at developing sub-Saharan African government officials' capacity to assess(i)the impact of COVID-19 on output and the income distribution, and (ii) the effectiveness of policies to mitigate that impact.
Course Objectives
(i)Provide a spectrum of useful tools to technicians in sub-Saharan Africa to assess the impact of the current crisis, including to foster understanding of methods used by the IMF and other institutions to make such assessment.
(ii)Foster collaboration between country authorities and IMF teams on macroeconomic and distributional assessments while broadening the reach of IMF-developed tools in a cost-effective manner.
(iii)Encourage technical exchange on different methodologies of assessments, including to facilitate cross country collaboration.
