Participants are expected to have a degree in economics or equivalent experience.
Course Description
The course on Macroeconomics of Climate Change starts with an overview of the science-the state of knowledge on the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on global warming, evidence of climate change, historic trends in global emissions, and projections of global warming-and the economics of climate change, including its channels of transmission and main effects on the economy. The course continues with discussions of mitigation and adaptation policies, including policy design, and public finances management related to climate change.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Define climate change and the societal, economic, and environmental risks posed at the country level and at the global level.
- Outline the key policies to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
- Design a reform strategy to address climate change, considering country-specific circumstances
