Course Description
This is a five-half days training workshop - Intermediary Government Finance Statistics specifically for participants who took the Introduction Course to Government Finance Statistics held virtually in March or in-person in September 2022. This course consists of a recap of each topic and then practical exercises to build upon the knowledge gained during the Introduction course. The course covers sector classification, revenue, expenditure, financing, and consolidation. Each training day will be approximately. Each day there will be two practical exercises on the particular topic being covered. The first exercise will be carried out individually and the second one undertaken in groups. All the information and guidance for the exercises will be provided to the participants. The final day will look at consolidation of data and you will use for this exercise the materials from the previous group exercises.
Course Objectives
The objective of the course is to make the participants truly familiar with the GFSM 2014 framework for compiling government finance statistics. It will enable participants to apply the theoretical learning done previously and teach them how to correctly record different transactions to the correct category so that a top to bottom account for the general government sector can be produced.
