This two-day event includes a high-level seminar focusing on the current global and Asian economic context and policy responses, bringing together central bank governors from Asia and beyond. A second peer-learning event for government officials from the region will focuses on financial sector stability issues related to climate change. Both events are organized jointly by the National Bank of Cambodia, the South-East Asian Central Bank Training and Research Center and the IMF-Singapore Regional Training Institute. The events are by invitation only.

Peer-Learning Seminar: Climate Challenges and Financial Stress Tests

Asia and the Pacific is highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change and climate issues are on top of many countries’ policy agenda. Climate-related events, for example, can significantly undermine financial sector stability with adverse macroeconomic and social implications. This seminar will provide insights into how climate change is perceived in the region and provide an overview of selected climate issues. Finally, the regional seminar will introduce an analytical framework to conduct climate-related stress tests and share country-specific experiences.
