Sabina Bhatia
Director of the Corporate Services and Facilities Department
Sabina Bhatia was appointed Director of the Corporate Services and Facilities (CSF) department on September 2, 2025. As Director of CSF, Ms. Bhatia is responsible for a wide range of products and services spanning from day-to-day operations to large-scale initiatives in areas that include infrastructure and facilities management, hospitality, language services, library, information and data services, creative solutions, broadcast and audiovisual, procurement and third-party risk management, physical security, and transportation, at both U.S. headquarters and overseas field offices.
Ms. Bhatia has held multiple positions throughout her career at the IMF. Most recently, she served as Deputy Secretary, working closely with the Board and Management to facilitate the effective operations of the IMF Executive Board. She also oversaw the preparation and delivery of the Spring and Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, including meetings of the IMF’s main policy making body, the International Monetary and Financial Committee.
Prior to this, Ms Bhatia was an Assistant Director in the Communications Department, where she led a team that managed the IMF’s relations with various stakeholders, including civil society, labor unions, think tanks, parliamentarians, and youth, as well as managing many public engagements of the IMF’s Managing Director. She also oversaw the IMF’s corporate social responsibility program and held various other positions including Advisor in the Communications Department and Chief of Internal Communications.
A national of India, Ms. Bhatia has a B.A. from Calcutta University, an M.A. in Political Science from Marquette University, and an M.A. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. Sabina received Marquette University’s Institute for Women’s Leadership Excellence Award in May 2024. She also created and curated the IMF Inspired series. Recent participants have been Malala Yousefzai, Reshma Saujani, Caroline Criado Perez, Saadia Zahidi, Gillian Tett among others.
