Course Description
This updated and expanded online course, presented by the Institute for Capacity Development and Research Department, serves as the third in a six-part Macroeconomics of Climate Change (MCCx) series. In this offering, you will learn about the macroeconomics of mitigation and the investment needs for reaching net-zero emissions.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Define the four building blocks of a growth and distribution friendly mitigation strategy.
- Compare the effects of mitigation policies on commodity prices, trade patterns, and fossil fuel exporters' economies, both domestically and internationally.
- Describe the general investment needs for a net-zero emission transition.
- Identify a roadmap for decarbonization across sectors.
