Mark Plant is Director of the IMF’s Human Resources Department. He was previously Deputy Director of the IMF’s African Department and before that he held a range of senior positions in the Strategy, Policy and Review Department, where he had oversight of the IMF’s policies towards low-income countries. He also has a range of country experience at the IMF, including leading teams working on Ghana, Guinea, Cape Verde, and Chad. Prior to joining the IMF, Mark held senior positions in the U.S. Department of Commerce, in the private sector, and also teaching economics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
