Gabriel Quirós-Romero is Deputy Director in the IMF Statistics Department. Previously he worked and held positions in several areas at the European Central Bank (1999-2016), Bank of Spain (1988-1999), and University of Valencia, Spain (Associate Professor, 1985-1988). His current work focus on the development of economic and financial indicators related to Climate Change and Digitalization. Mr. Quirós-Romero leads the work of the IMF on a new G20 Data Gap Initiative, coordinating the contributions of other International Organizations and G20 countries. Mr. Quirós-Romero holds a Bachelor degree from University of Valencia, a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. in Economics from College of Spain, Bologna, Italy.
