Raphael Espinoza is a deputy division chief in the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department. He was previously an Assistant Professor in Economics at University College London, where he was also the Director of the Centre for Studies of Emerging Economies. At the IMF he has worked in the Research Department and on the United Kingdom, Spain, the Dominican Republic, and various Middle East countries. He also worked on the US subprime crisis at the European Central Bank and has published widely on fiscal policy, monetary policy, and financial stability.
