Qualifications and Target Audience

• Qualifications:
  • Staff from Maldives entities involved in state owned enterprises within the Ministry of Finance, other ministries, government organizations, and State Owned Enterprises, as identified by Ministry of Finance.
• Target Audience:
  • Officials interested in learning more about how to effectively manage SOE fiscal risks by enhancing SOE Governance, monitoring reporting and transparency.
  • Officials from across the Ministry of Finance including Public Enterprises Monitoring and Fiscal Affairs Department and Treasury and Public Accounting Division.
  • Relevant officials from key SOEs may also be invited as per the discretion of the Ministry of Finance.

Course Objectives

• The objective will be assist the Maldivian authorities to better manage, monitor, and report on State Owned Enterprises.

Course Description — Core Content Areas

• This virtual course, presented by Fiscal Affairs Department, SARTTAC is aimed at strengthening SOE Governance, Reporting, and Risk Management in the Maldives. It will cover three broad areas:
  • SOE governance
  • SOE reporting and transparency
  • SOE analysis and monitoring, including an introduction and example of the IMF SOE health check tool
