Zsuzsa Munkacsi

Zsuzsa Munkácsi is a Senior Economist in the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund, with about 15 years of experience in macroeconomics and fiscal-structural issues. Her work at the IMF involved macroeconomic modeling, fiscal anchors and rules, demographics, labor market reforms, and expenditure policies in a wide range of countries (e.g., Argentina, Azerbaijan, Fiji, New Zealand, and South Africa). A key recent highlight is her role as a co-lead for the October 2025 Fiscal Monitor. Prior to the Fund, she held positions at several European institutions, including an external advisor to the European Central Bank and a member of the Advisory Panel of the Lithuanian Fiscal Institution. Zsuzsa holds an MPhil in Economic Research from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute.
