Gonzalo Salinas

Gonzalo Salinas is a senior economist in the Western Hemisphere Department of the International Monetary Fund. His research focuses on development economics, international trade, and economic growth. At the IMF he has been desk economist for several African countries, including Nigeria, and currently covers several Caribbean nations. Before joining the IMF, he held consultant positions at Peru’s Ministry of Finance, the Peruvian Institute of Economics, Harvard University’s Center for International Development, and the World Bank. He earned a Ph.D. in economics at Oxford University and a master's degree in international development at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
